Improvement for Roomba

Posted by Jane Berliss-Vincent 11 May 2009

Here’s a neat idea: modify a Roomba so that it can pick up and deliver items from the floor. We can’t just call this a hack, cuz it’s been through scientific testing and has shown 95% efficiency with all types of objects. This could become a great low-cost robotic aid for at least people in manual wheelchairs (we can’t tell if it could reach up high enough to be useful to people in electric wheelchairs), not to mention elders and others for whom bending is problematic.
